- Course Description: This course reviews paraspinal and peri-vertebral edema visualized on MRI with emphasis on fat-suppressed sequences. Correlation to chiropractic, clinical presentations, and differential diagnoses are considered.
- Hourly Breakdown:
- Hour 1 – Advanced MRI anatomy review, visualizing edema, the Czervionke-Fenton Synovitis scale, correlation to chiropractic care, differential diagnosis and case review.

- Attendees will better understand concepts related to para-spinal edema on MRI.
- Attendees will gain insight into Czervionke-Fenton Synovitis scale.
- Attendees will be able to better relate para-spinal edema to clinical and chiropractic care.

Dr. James Demetrious is a nationally distinguished, board-certified chiropractic orthopedist. He teaches post-graduate coursework through his company PostGradDC. He is a proud member of the NCMIC Speakers’ Bureau and teaches throughout the United States. He has taught on behalf of Northeast College of Health Sciences. Dr. Demetrious has published peer-reviewed papers related to advanced differential diagnosis. Notably, he published the very first paper to ever associate fluoroquinolone medications as a causative risk factor of Cervical Artery Dissection. Dr. Demetrious serves as an editorial reviewer on behalf of the journals: Spine, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Clinical Anatomy. He has continually cared for patients since 1986.
