- This course provides a practical review of common normal and developmental radiographic variants encountered on chiropractic x-ray examinations. Emphasis is placed on accurate recognition, differentiation from pathology, and clinical relevance to prevent misdiagnosis, unnecessary alarm, or inappropriate management while supporting sound clinical decision-making.
- Hourly Breakdown:
- Hour 1 – The lecture reviews frequently encountered normal x-ray variants of the spine and extremities, including congenital anomalies, developmental variations, and age-related findings. Discussion focused on distinguishing benign variants from clinically significant pathology, understanding when additional imaging or referral is warranted, and documenting findings appropriately to support patient care and risk management.

Instructor: Cliff Tao, DC, DACBR
Dr. Cliff Tao was born in Ottawa, Canada now lives in Irvine, California. He has owned and operated a nationwide private chiropractic radiology practice since 2004. He is married with an 8 year old boy, and enjoys the outdoors, especially downhill skiing.
Moderator: James Demetrious, DC, DABCO
Dr. James Demetrious is a nationally distinguished, board-certified chiropractic orthopedist. He is a clinician, educator, author, and editor. Dr. Demetrious is the co-founder and CEO of PostGradDC. He is an independent member of the NCMIC Speakers’ Bureau and teaches post-graduate coursework throughout the United States. He has published peer-reviewed journal articles on advanced differential diagnosis. Dr. Demetrious provided chiropractic care to patients for 40 years.
