  • This course offers a concise, clinically focused overview of oculomotor dysfunction and its relevance to chiropractic practice. Emphasis is placed on the interaction between visual, vestibular, and cervical proprioceptive systems, and how assessment and chiropractic care may influence sensorimotor integration, balance, and functional performance.

Hourly Breakdown:

  • Hour 1:
    • The lecture reviews core oculomotor physiology, common dysfunction patterns, and their clinical significance in patients with neuromusculoskeletal complaints. The discussion focuses on practical in-office oculomotor screening, interpretation of findings, referral considerations, and the role of chiropractic care in supporting improved sensorimotor integration and functional outcomes.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify common oculomotor dysfunctions and explain their relationship to cervical spine mechanics, proprioception, and central nervous system integration.
  2. Perform and interpret basic, clinically appropriate oculomotor assessments within the chiropractic office, recognizing indications for referral when necessary.
  3. Integrate oculomotor considerations into chiropractic care planning to support improved sensorimotor control, balance, visual stability, and patient-reported outcomes
