  • Course Description:
    • Dr. James Demetrious offers chiropractic physicians an assessment tool and flow chart to order and interpret MRI studies that will complement the reports from board-certified radiologists. (1.0 CE hour).
  • Hourly Breakdown:
    • Hour 1 – Reviewing imaging appropriateness criteria, improving prescription conspicuity, basic sequences, the IVD, vertebral body, Modic changes, posterior joints, paraspinal mm., canal/neuroforamina, extra-vertebral findings, measurements, alignment, and hardware/ instability.
  • Learning Objectives:
    • Attendees will better understand the indications for MRI assessment.
    • Attendees will improve their ability to interpret radiology reports and MRI images.
    • Attendees will gain insight into how to utilize the information gained from MRI studies on behalf of their chiropractic patients.

Instructor: James Demetrious, DC, DABCO

Dr. James Demetrious is a nationally distinguished, board-certified chiropractic orthopedist. He teaches post-graduate coursework through his company PostGradDC. He is a proud member of the NCMIC Speakers’ Bureau and teaches throughout the United States. He has taught on behalf of Northeast College of Health Sciences. Dr. Demetrious has published peer-reviewed papers related to advanced differential diagnosis. Notably, he published the very first paper to ever associate fluoroquinolone medications as a causative risk factor of Cervical Artery Dissection. Dr. Demetrious serves as an editorial reviewer on behalf of the journals: Spine, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Clinical Anatomy. He has continually cared for patients since 1986.
