  • Course Description:
    • This 1-hour Grand Rounds session, led by medical neuroradiologist Dr. Steven Veigh, will showcase a series of instructive neuroradiologic images relevant to clinical chiropractic practice. Using real-world imaging cases, Dr. Veigh will highlight key findings that every chiropractic physician should be able to recognize. The session is designed to strengthen diagnostic acumen, improve clinical correlation, and enhance interprofessional communication between chiropractors and radiologists.
  • Hourly Breakdown:
    • Hour 1 – Principles of neuroradiologic interpretation (CT, MRI, key sequences and planes with case-based review of real-world neuroradiology images relevant to chiropractic physicians.
  • Learning Objectives:
    • Identify common and critical neuroradiologic findings relevant to chiropractic clinical practice.
    • Differentiate between benign degenerative imaging findings and red flag pathologies requiring referral.
    • Apply imaging correlations to patient presentations to refine diagnostic reasoning.
    • Enhance patient safety through early recognition of urgent and emergent imaging findings.
    • Improve interprofessional dialogue by understanding the language and perspective of neuroradiologists.

Speaker: Stephen Veigh, DO

Dr. Stephen Veigh is is a board-certified medical neuroradiologist having completed his neuroradiology fellowship at New York University. Prior to becoming a radiologist, Dr. Veigh achieved board certification in chiropractic orthopedic.

Moderator: James Demetrious, DC, DABCO

 

Dr. James Demetrious is a nationally distinguished, board certified chiropractic orthopedist. He is a clinician, educator, author, and editor. Dr. Demetrious teaches post-graduate coursework on behalf of Northeast College of Health Sciences. He is a member of the NCMIC Speakers’ Bureau and teaches post-graduate coursework throughout the United States. He has published peer-reviewed journal papers related to advanced differential diagnosis. He serves as an editorial reviewer on behalf of the journals: Spine, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Clinical Anatomy. Dr. Demetrious has continually cared for patients since 1986.
